Cub Scout Pack 729
Pack 729 is one of two Cub Scout Packs for the Township of North Reading. Students attending either The E.Ethel Little School or The Hood School, and who are interested in Scouting would participate within Pack 729. Cub Scouts’ annual program commences and concludes with the scholastic calendar.
Cub Scouts are precursors to Boy Scouting
Cub Scouts is divided into Four Ranks based upon scholastic standing.
· The Tiger Rank is for Boys entering the First Grade
· The Wolf Rank is for Boys entering the Second Grade
· The Bear Rank is for Boys entering The Third Grade
· The Webelos I Rank is for Boys entering the Fourth Grade
· The Webelos II Rank is for Boys entering the Fifth Grade
Dens are Packs of Friends
Each Rank is comprised of a number of dens with an average of around eight boys in each. Dens are typically comprised of school classmates and neighborhood friends. Each den is led by parent volunteers, called "Den Leaders", who assist the Scouts through guided programs and activities to achieve certain life skills through participation and knowledge enhancement. Den meetings are scheduled with Den Leaders and Parents and typically meet twice a month.
